    Elder Scrolls Online

Anyone sign up for the beta?

I loved skyrim, so hopefully this will be good as well. Although, it will be a while before it actually comes out.

The developers have admitted that it's not going to be 'Skyrim Online'. Think World of Warcraft with Elder Scrolls locations. They're going to try to put their own spin on the MMO, but in the end if you're tired of the way the MMO market is now then ES:O isn't going to change your opinion.

I have never played WOW or any other MMO type game like that before.

Just be wary of the review. Games 'journalists' have been known to talk-up a game in order to receive money/gifts/access/prestige. Well known sites like IGN are notorious for that.

LOVE the Elder Scrolls series, but not remotely interested in this.

Same same. I can't even begin to imagine how hour many I have spent on Elder Scrolls games over the years.

I'll wait to see how the finished product looks before I decide.

I will be playing this when it does finally release (PC Version of course) as well as my wife and a few fellas I work with. Will be playing Daggerfall Covenant side.

Ive always been an MMO junky since the days of U/O and EQ, pretty much played them all and have played every Elderscrolls game since Arena. Been waiting many a year for this to finally happen. Just hope they can deliver the game we all hope it will be. From what I have seen so far (I can neither confirm nor deny my beta involvement) it will.

Never been able to justify the cost of playing an MMO. I don't have enough time to dedicate to any game to justify it.

As far as the cost of playing an MMO its never really bothered me. In todays market most subscription models are $60ish up front for the game and $15.00 per month, with a discount if you subscribe for longer periods, you may get it for around 12-13 a month.

For a months worth of entertainment that is extremely cheap. A movie ticket is $15.00, thats on average 2 hours of entertainment.

Cable/Sattelite...... well ill leave that one alone, but it far exceeds 15 a month.

How much do you spend on coffee, tobbacco, snacks, going out to eat, ball games, yadda yadda in one month? If you are like me it is a lot more than 15 a month, so from a value stand point, its cheap.

My biggest hurdle with MMO these days is the fact that if I play a game like that I want to play with a Hardcore mentality, and with a job/wife/children I dont have the time to necessary to maintain that. It bothers me to be playing at a more casual aspect, but thats just my own hang up.

MMO's have been fun. It just is a huge time sink. The orginal Star Wars lasted the longest for me at about 2 years. It was almost a year into the game that I started to actually take quests.

The problem for me is that i don't generally have more than 1-2 hours per night to dedicate to gaming. It is not worth it for me to pay a monthly fee when I can only play a few hours a day.
