So far HC vs Vanilla

I am loving HC in BF3. So awesome! However there still is the killcam.

I noticed this too this morning when the killcam was occasionally being used on some enemies in the HC server.

the Killcam is a glitch. Sometimes you see it, sometimes you don't.

I played HC for a while last night, and it was pretty good. Really the only things it removes are crosshair and 3d spotting (spotting on the minimap is still there).

I seem to notice that after being TK'd that I would then get one or 2 kill cams for the next deaths.

Not sure if this is the reason so you know who the person who TKed you was doing?

Juneau the mini-map is there and so is spotting in HC. Also without the constant player and vehicle regen other players have to heal you or heal the vehicles so HC is MORE teamwork dependent...

I like self-regeneration personally, but do admit it's a tool a multiplayer game should do without, as it throws off balance and competition. My last round last night, I started out 22-0 in the Abrams on the Seine map. I had some good engineers but at times I was alone, and finally got overwhelmed about 10 minutes in.

With self-regeneration, they wouldn't have been able to stop me at all. As it was, I got a lucky start in that the enemy tank's engineers bailed on the wrong side (for them), so I took them out before they could repair the thing. Self-regeneration for someone good in tanks, helis, jets, or whatever flavor of vehicle is just too unbalancing.

On the chat box, while I hate the location and find it VERY hard to tell what's going on (the upper left has been the idea place for a decade. Why reinvent the wheel with a big square rock?), I will gladly take their over-obtrusive way of indicating it, because it then tells me to pay attention to the massive blue box because someone may be saying something stupid or interesting.

P.S. The absolute funniest thing I saw in 6+ hours yesterday? Fiery Dragon's EOB bot strolling up to my tank in that round so he could safely repair it. It just cracked me up.

Tried it at lunch. Still don't like HC. Spotting doesn't mark the enemy on the mini-map, just calls them out. Team killing Lots of campers. No kill cam. (I like the kill cam since I hate campers and very soon, if not already, people are going to find camping spots where no one will ever know where you are).

I don't like the regen though on vanilla. But I can deal with that.

Maybe it was bugging? But I would spot, hear the audio call it out, but no dot on my minimap.

Make sure you set your mini-map to mid-zoom. I believe it is set, by default, to zoom in real close.

M - Change between mini-map and map
N - to change map zoom (close - mid - far)

Mid, I have seen, is the best thing to have always on your minimap. You can still see around you while giving you plenty of room to see the red dots.

I know this is getting nitpicky, but I wish the medium range was a bit closer. It seems on the large maps medium and long are similar, but short range is super close...

Yea i am constantly toggling my mini map screen to what I am doing. There are to many things involved. If I am in a tank I need more long range to find other tanks...ect.

I hopped on and played HC for about 20 minutes during my lunch break today... I didn't see the vanilla in search results .

You reminded me! I just got C4 recently and I've been doing the old C4 suicide thing for tanks. But now I need to release the JIHAD JEEP strategery.
