    DVD burning software

    What do you guys use to burn DVD's and CD's?

    I used to use Nero but it doesn't work with Vista x64.

    And I don't want to pay 100 bucks for their latest bloatware version (9.0)

    Is the default vista burner any good?

      I burned an audio CD the other day on my x64 laptop. I think the program was WMP. It burned it quickly and it sound great.

        Waht ver. you have?? Nero has always worked for me in Vista x64 even the old 7.0

            Yeah if your burning ISO's imageburn is great. If copying DVD's I use DVDFab and if I'm actually making the DVD contents I use something like TMPCng it's kinda old but, does the trick.

              Don't forget you can build images too. Which means it can practically do anything.

                I use Nero8 in Vista 64 ultimate. WOrks fine for me.

                  I just want to use it to backup data. Is the built in function the best way to go? I had an older version, like 7 or 6 I think....

                    If you are just going to be using it to manually copy data to a DVD, the basic functionality built into Vista should do the trick. If you want to add automation, you might want to look into getting a backup program like Titan Backup. I use Titan Backup, and it works pretty well. It has the option to backup to CD or DVD (or HDD).
