Have you considered other alternatives besides bullets? Like rockets, flames, knives, or an auto machine that does the aim 'n fire for you?

Soldier is something I think you can get used to very quickly, and
are quite powerful when mastered. .

I am trying different characters but getting the same results. No biggie.

Just as any other game, it takes a while to get used to it. And remember that you are playing with people who have mostly been playing since the game launch (last October??) and they have more experience in knowing the different classes and how to optimize damage

yeah, when I first started, I tried the soldier and ended up killing myself more often... then I moved on to the demoman with slightly better results.
Ben Kenobi, being the medic/sniper nut that he is told me to go Heavy, and I've been in love with Sasha ever since.

Little tip with the heavy... If you have to keep fire on a certain spot for a few moments then crouch. Crouching will give you slightly better aim.

The only class that really requires aim for me is the Sniper because i only use the Spy, Sniper and Pyro basically
