I played this game years ago and enjoyed it. has anyone here tried it?

Steam has a free demo Duke. It was fun as heck. If I had more money at the moment (my wife was laid off about 2 weeks ago, so that didn't help) I would have bought it.

Sci-fi fight against alien invasion.
Turn-based squad combat with isometric view of battle area.
Strategic challenges include assembling your base and investing limited resources, i.e. choosing an advanced tech vs. more armor.

I played the demo and now I'm trying to resist the urge to buy it. I think it will be a fun game.

These versions must be activated via Steam. This game was just released on 10/9. It has received a "Great" 8.5/10 rating at IGN.com as well as at Gamespot.

My thinking is that this appeals to those of us who played the original A LOT more than most gamers today, and as a result it won't sell well. Which then means it will be very cheap during Steam's holiday sale.

Although I hate to see any PC title go down theses days I woldn't mind a bargain price.

xcom is selling pretty well on pc, actually... though a deal might still be in it's future. that being said, it's well worth the loot. the demo doesn't do it justice.
