I downloaded the demo and tried it... can't say that I liked it - just killing a butt load of zombies. I didn't get it. Am I missing something?

I think all zombie killing games are better with more people, on the hardest difficulties. Something about sheer, virtually unarmed hordes rushing you is pretty exciting, trying to survive with friends (and leaving one behind) is even more fun.Originally posted by ObiTroy69 View PostI downloaded the demo and tried it... can't say that I liked it - just killing a butt load of zombies. Well despite Valve continuing to run on "Valve Time" and releasing this thing 1 hr and 20 min late, L4D2 is awesome!
Played the first campaign on advanced difficulty with a local friend and a random guy who apparently played on our CLR DoD server!
Anyway, the finale of the first campaign was HARD. No more sticking it out and surviving. You now have objectives during the finale. It required quite the effort and teamwork (along with countless tries) to get through it.[hlx]

The teamwork that is required to play the game is one of my favorite parts. If you let a teammate die then you all fail to complete the level. There is also quite a bit of strategy when you start playing VS mode. Now I have not played L4D2 yet so there may be some difference but if it's like the demo i think it will be pretty close.Originally posted by bobytt View PostIn general. May be i am too old. But this game got me for like 3 minutes. Where is the fun playing this?

This is a completely different game and I am liking it. The level design is soooo much better. This is probably the most notable difference to me. The melee weapons are great and the difficulty seems much harder, though that could be a product of us not knowing where to go and being new.
Overall this is not an expansion pack imo and props to Valve.

That's god to hear I can't wait to get some in. I have heard that there is a scavenge mode, has anyone tried that yet?Originally posted by Furryappleseed View PostThis is a completely different game and I am liking it. It is basically vs without going through an entire campaign. They all involve gas cans and filling something. The one I played was in the mall and we had to get more gas cans into a display car than other team.Originally posted by Duke{CLR} View PostThat's god to hear I can't wait to get some in. OK so I figured I'd give my 2cents..
I pre-ordered it a while back and was completely underwhelmed by the demo and was kind of kicking myself for buying it..
I have yet to play vs but I have beat 3 of the campaigns so far and all I got to say is its significantly better than the first. The variety of guns/etc is pretty cool - the added special infected are pretty sweet as well as the non-common infected. The map design is worlds better as previously stated.
All in all, if you liked L4D then you won't be disappointed with l4d2.
