My son also has the game and when one is playing on line and the other joins an on line game, we lose our Internet connection.

You could try the option in steam.
In Steam client
1. Right click on "Call of Duty: Black Ops - Mulitiplayer" and select Properties.
2. Go to the General Tab and click on the SET LAUNCH OPTIONS... button.
3. Enter -port 28120 on one game machine and set it to -port 28130 on the other.[IMG]http://thepebkac.net/images/sigs/Outdoors_sig.jpg[/IMG]
