Microphone problem!

Based on everything you've done so far, I think your first guess was right. I think you'll need to switch your mic in Windows Voice Recording to the Audigy card. Of course, you'll want to get it working in Windows before trying again in game.

What's happening? Based on Phantom's rendition of your final words, I think COD5 is using your CPU too much for the mic to work properly with the integrated sound card. You're having no problem when the CPU is idle, but the mic sounds choppy in game.

I had a wierd problem a while back. I could hear myself talking on the mic but I had no audio (headphone/speaker) sound. Turned ot to be a setting in the audio manager for mic playback. Who ever heard of playback on a mic?

Agree, Also, if you have problems getting Vista to use the Audigy as the default Open you control panel and double click Sound. The select the Recording tab > highlight the Microphone and click Properties. What you want to do here is select the Advanced tab and ensure your default Format is set to the lowest setting and the following Check boxes:

-Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device
-Give exclusive mode applications priority
Verify this box I NOT checked in Signal Exhancements:

Enable audio enhancements

If I'm interpreting correctly it appears you settings are ok. Are you still having the problem?

Well didn't test it but it was like that yesterday when it appear to skip according to KPhaNTom.

And I have to scare death if I want the recording level bar in the game to top at 100% so it's weird.
