Also... I know you said you did a manual update.. have you tried completely removing it and then doing a manual install?

when you did the complete removal did you remove all the old registry entries? sometimes those are left over and when you reinstall they just use your old config settings. You can use a program like CCleaner (freeware) after you uninstall to remove all the useless registry entries. Then try reinstalling from the PB website.

ALSO- ensure that your firewall is allowing the client to communicate.
I often find that updates change my profiles in the firewall and I need to delete the old ones and add the new profiles.
