Suggestion: Lower the number of players

i know to use 3xfrag and marty,because people complain about being killed by them.that tells me it is very effective.i have been on a board and killed five marty users up close and personal,back to back without dying.you just have to be ready for it.just remember,nades are good

I toss martyr's to kill people, it's extremely effective and annoys the crap out of anyone who gets killed by it

MY GOD! There's a skill to nade throwing

There is some skill, sure. For instance, there is skill involved in hitting a third-story window with a nade, or putting a nade at the feet of an unseen, but heard, enemy. One needs to know how long to cook the nade so the enemy can't evade, how to hit that small window without it bouncing back off the wall, and more importantly, how to know the enemy is there through sound or UAV.

There is no skill involved in spawning and tossing three nades within a few seconds in the hopes that an enemy might be there. That's the definition of nade spam and, unfortunately, it's something we've got to live with on the Lair.

This is what i meant. Some have skill, the majority however, do not.

Funnily enough most CLR's are the ones who have that skill.

Actually, air strikes, helicopter and nade spam are related. More air strikes are made possible because of killing streaks lengthened by nade spam kills.

I estimate about 75% of my deaths come from either nade spam, air strikes or helicopters.

Exactly the same here, but my prob is that i can't get the kills to back up the deaths lol

Strangely enough, I played for a bit yesterday and it was aweful. I've never seen this happen before, but after dying five times in a row right at spawn on "Bloc", it dawned on me.

I would spawn, get shot at spawn, respawn, get shot, respawn and die from my last death's martyrdom. Strange. I didn't know that was even possible but according to the kill thingy scrolling, my nade blew me up 3 times AFTER I got shot at spawn 3 times. There were a couple of instances where I couldn't survive more than one second and I died 5-6 times as soon as I spawned.

Started watching the kill cam and saw that the person killing me was at the other end of the map, up on the stairs using an LMG. Now this guy killed me 4 times in a row from this perch, and watching the kill cam, he would wait till he saw someone, fire about 20 rounds and then wait again. I started spectating him and as soon as I did, he left the server.

Anyway, he killed me, then my martyrdom would, then he would, but I never took more than 2-3 steps from spawn. Watching the kill cam helped me avoid my own martyrdom.

I like the size of cainslair server wish it was bigger ( play joint operations typhoon riseing 240 players on a server)
Nades are part of the game I use em like a knife and always know where Im putting em and marty just gives me 1 more ( maybe ya nd to learn how to play TDM)
Its TEAM DEATH MATCH with an emphasis on TEAM

And lag in a server is somthing all together different 2 biggest causes for lag is smoke and cheats ( seems a lot of players are no longer affected by flash or stun go figure)

+1 flashes and stuns don't work. I stunned a guy yesterday and hit him really hard with it. I walked in the room where he was..alone..and he wasn't even stunned. He turned and shot me even though I ran around behind him. The stun hit him so hard that I got a Health bonus, yet he wasn't stunned.

Stuns do work, you just have to throw it and go in right after it goes off. So, like, throw it off of a wall or something, and then run in. It should go off right before you pop your head in. They will be stuned for a moment, but not much longer as it doesn't take long for the effects to go away. Heck, i'v even been known to unload a P90 at a doorway because I was flashed/stuned and ended up killing 2 guys that way!

Keep in mind that you can use the flash/stuns to get through a room without being seen. It's actually a fairly effective method i've used to get around to the snipers nests on crossfire. Load up with 3x specials (or 3x frags, but the specials give you the added benefit of going off right away) and then run on through!

I'm stuck using the M60 every map now, as I am getting close to Gold with that, but you ever try and get HS from 50+ yds with a freakin' M60 ? Hey Rye, hold still, I can't HS you !!!


Naillik asked me the other day how long I've been playing on the Lair, and I guessed I started back in 2001, but didn't join the forums until '03. I didn't even KNOW about them until then, so thats why its always worthwhile to let new guys know at the end of each round. But regardless, I've always come back for the high player counts, as even an old dude like me could stand a blind squirrels chance given the right circumstances.
When I'm sitting in the attic of the farmhouse on Overgrown with my Claymores set up, and the Overkill perk, I am feeling quite good about my chances.

WT, you using the red dot or ACOG with the M60? Because with the M60 you have to overcompensate for the movement where as with the red dot you don't have to because it doesn't move. Just place dot over head and fire using double tap. Usually works for me anyways when i'm using the M60.
