Nah, it's not a flaw in the system. Just add those really cool AT-4s or RPGs from the single-player campaign. And don't forget that most of the maps are very constrained. Imagine trying to move a tank around the "streets" of District for example. It ain't going anywhere, and you'll have multiple angles of attack.
