Just bought the game yesterday and it's fun as hell. The only thing I dislike about new games is figuring out all the new stuff . How do you get helicopters and stuff? Is that unlock material?

UAVs, Helicopters, and Air Strikes are all from killing streaks.

3 kills without dying = UAV
5 kills without dying = Air Strike
7 kills without dying = Helicopter

All are activated by pressing '6' by default. UAVs and Helicopters work on their own. With Air Strikes, you point on the map where you'd like 'em to work their magic.

If you dont use your airstrike before your helicopter pops up, you will lose it.

Last night- I pulled off the combination.

3 kills UAV
5 kills Airstrike
7 kills Helicopter

And executed them in order. about 4 kills later Carbon put his shotgun to my chest and introduced me to Hamster Hell.

When I respawned my Helicopter was on a rampage and ran up the tally so fast that I couldnt get the airstrike out before an additional Helicopter popped up.

When I re-issued the Helicopter, the Airstrike was not available beneath it.
I know that UAVs are available if you havent used them before Helicopters or Airstrikes.

Weird eh?

I'm notoriously bad for missing out on my airstrikes....I usually don't have enough time between killing people(because I'm often behind enemy lines) to stop and aim an airstrike (or often one will be in progress when I get mine).

The only time I get to use my air strike (when I can get one, that is ) is usually if I die before getting a helicopter. If I'm still alive after 5 kills but rather close to hostiles, I can't convince myself to open up a map to do an air strike. I always think I'm gonna die. Oh well, I die before I hit 7 kills anyway.

On the rare occasions (sp?) I get a chopper I only get to use it 1/2 the time cause theres always a chopper already in the air. When it goes down there's a mad 6 bashing all around as everyone who has one stored up tries to win the race to launch it.

I always try to use it, and am willing to trade off a death for it; though sometimes you're killing people too fast and it jumps right on by anyway. You get a lot more kills from a good airstrike than a helo. The problem though, is that airstrikes are very random in the direction they come from, so it's easy to miss.
