I had a similar problem on Sunday. I hopped on for a few minutes playing sniper with the M95, and I couldn't hit anyone. One guy I shot at 4 times and I think I hit him once.

I've had similar problems aiming, but in my case, I think it's a combination of not playing for a while and being used to Call of Duty 4 on X360.Comment

There is no server settings for tick rate or anything similar that would affect shot registration. The server is just on or off.
The only variable would be dropped packets or weird latency with packets.
That having been said I know people have been complaining about BF2 hit registration for years, and also complaining about it taking 30 hits to drop a guy.
I was a sniper in SF Sunday for the first time in my life and I rarely missed - ask DougBob !!
