    Traceroute to EA

This is what I get when I run a packet send. As you can see I got 100% packet loss with the IP's in black.

Your end point looks clean, so that indicates to me that those routers just dont reply to ICMP packets,
    which is becoming more common.

Meaning theres no issues in your route loss wise, its those unknown hosts that's your issue.
Look at the jump in reply time.

I'm not insane. I'm just overwhelming!

Dont have a router. ADSL modem. Disabled firewalls. Reinstalled the game. The whole 9 yards.
It had been working fine, then one day it just decided not to connect any more. It started with not being able to log in from the login page. Now it wont even connect to the login page at all. Says "Failed to connect to EA online".. I dont know what the deal is.

Oh, and Sirex, thats where it jumps from Thailand to some other continent. Don't know which one though.

          1. what OS are you using?

          2. do you have DMZ enabled?

          3. can you get to any configuration page to open, or change settings on your modem?

          4. have you drank a beer then tried fixing it?

          5. i know this is a horrible question to ask but have you updated your drivers?

ty trying my best to find the issue i just need a bit of info

maybe the best route is to get a regular LAN router that way you can configure more options open up ports ect. because i had the same problem with certain games like AoE II or Majesty, but once i got the router i could change alot of settings that was holding my speed and connectivity back

Most DSL modems are designed to act as a router, with NAT firewall, port forwarding, even the kind that only have one connection... or I should say, most that I've seen in the US. Having said that, probably not your problem unless they pushed an update to it, or someone changed some settings as you first started having problems.

If you have all your account information and modem settings available, it might not be a bad idea to reset it. Just beware, if you don't have the proper credential information, and know how to set it in the modem config (some bring up a page to enter this info when you open a browser page after a reset), you will be screwed and require tech support from your ISP to get back online.

If you drink enough beer you don't care if it's fixed.

Guys, I appreciate all the assistance. Once again, it was working good for a long time. One day it started to get worse connecting intermittently and then not connecting altogether.Nothing changed on my part or end. No software installs no updates, nada.

I have Win 7 Home premium.

Cannot get to router/modem to see what the DMZ setting is but like I said it was working fine before.

Cant get to modem. Passworded. And not from me.

Umm.. I drink beer for no other reason than they are in the fridge.

                  Drivers are fine.

See the way this think is set up. You have to have some type of initial script of some sort to get on the net here. The modem shakes hands with the companies settings and they are the ones who set it up. So, I dont have many options of monkeying with it myself.

But once again, It was working fine one day and then just decided to flake out. I have no idea why.

When I started having connection problems I bought a new modem, and that worked.
