If EA can intercept & fix the problem, I don't believe they will invest much effort/money to find the criminals. That kind of project doesn't give any financial reward to companies. The most successful investigations tend to be by individual security experts or big government agencies.

It would be more about their reputation and stock price than direct financial reward. They are taking an absolute beating because of their rush to get BF4 to market as it is, and DDOS on their entire server infrastructure is icing on that cake. They pretty much have to react.

Yes, they must fix it. That's why I used weasel words, "If EA can intercept & fix the problem..."

After they make it go away, they will immediately lose interest in pursuing the bad guys, regardless of how much the problem cost. Stock holders don't care about sending a hacker to jail.

DDOS attacks on the NFO servers has become a constant thing. I guarantee it's some hacker living in his moms basement that got banned from the game for cheating and is taking his revenge. Or could be a group of hackers all together. I really hope bad things befall those type of people for being without feelings or care for others.

Or, it could be a bunch of CoD rejects that cant take it because CoD sucks and doesnt even come close to being as fun as BF and this is the only way they can feel good about being stuck in CoD hell.

Then again , it could be that Activision has hired a bunch to go after the BF servers cause they also know they suck. Either way, it's pretty pathetic.
