BF4 Premium is typical EA. They saw how popular Premium was in BF3 so they decided to overcharge in the next installment.

I personally will not be buying Premium. I will buy expansion packs as necessary (if Cain adds them to server).

I ended up purchasing it. With BF3 i ran into issues where i owned almost every xpac but couldnt join half the servers my friends were on because i didnt have premium (even though said servers were only running maps I had)

Didn't BF2 have several cheaper xpacks or DLCs though?

Does premium provide benefits beyond slightly cheaper expansion packs and a bunch of vanity items?

I doubt I'd get premium, giving EA an extra 60$ is just nuts.

BF2 had three expansion. only 1 was popular then after 3-4 years they gave away the other 2 for free.

Unlikely I will run Premium maps, unless there is some way for folks who did not purchase them to be able to play on servers running those maps.

Cain you will have several months before the premium is needed and in effect. Just like in BF3.

Yep. Premium is a good thing to freshen up the game, as no doubt everybody will be bored of it by then.
