Hardcore spawn

The spawn system in hardcore is awful; leader only.

Is this coupled directly with hardcore mode, or is it a server setting. If i'm not the leader, it makes life miserable.

Does anyone else hate it, or is it just me?

That's because you don't have a squad leader worth much. I find that the the issues with the spawning are all directly related to the quality of players in the server. It's especially bad when the "Leader" decides he wants to be a "Sniper." This is the MAJOR flaw that I hate about Battlefield 3 - you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. Or rather, you can force people into squads, but that doesn't mean they'll play as a team.

its great in my eyes....that means the sl has to stay alive and not stand up and be a target.....work on that as a sl and your squads will love you

I like it from a tactical standpoint, but as mentioned above about the horse and the water...... Squad leaders are an issue that needs to be adressed imo. Make more squads available, make SL swappable.. something. Real pain in the arse when you have the sniper SL or one that just doesnt care.

ok if your sl is a sniper it gives you a chance to plant a sl down incase your SL gets killed...then he can respawn but if your Sl plants that then works his way up from that and gives you another spawn point that much closer to capping point you wish to take......all sl should be snipers but they have to move up with there sqaud and not be pansy belly boys WAY on the back some where and there squad mates just rather knife him then spawn on him

I agree with Legion and Schultzy, it's not a bad idea, but poorly implemented.

A full server exacerbates the problem.

Play with good squad leaders, everything is great. Play with awful squad leaders and the game is actually no fun.

I agree with all above. I' cant tell you how many times I've died because of a crappy sl.Or one that isn't even in the fight. I keep forgetting to stay alive when I'm sl. I think a lot do. I'm too busy trying to get in the fight and I forget that it aint like BC2.

That and they need to make the points on the map labeled A,B,C,D,E. So I can tell which one we need to be on.And clickable. As it is now you have to click and look where it's at. I dont remember the names too well yet, so it takes time to find out where you need to be.

I like the current SL setup. It'd be so annoying if every squadmember could be a mobile spawn point. There's so much to keep track of already then having people beam down all over the place.

I think having the SL get points for objectives should have a basic reason to keep himself alive. I approve this current role of the SL.

I think we need more squads though and more people in each squad.

You mean because of the spawn beacon? Anybody in the squad can use a sniper's spawn beacon IIRC, even if he isn't the SL. Snipers should NOT be SLs unless the entire squad is snipers.

If the SL is squad leader you can only spawn on the beacon. As soon as the SL spawns on the beacon or is revived the beacon blows up.

It seems the easy fix is to provide enough squad spots, so the good players can group together and the rest can play snipers.

After refining my thoughts on this, I agree SL spawn is great. I think not enough squads is what breaks it.
