I don't mind it if it splits into squads if its a full squad, but sitting in a channel by myself is kinda boring, kinda makes me wish it had a setting where only time it puts you into a team speak squad is if the squad is full

and yeah teamspeak is down for me also

To be fair, there were some complaints about people wanting to talk but couldn't because they didn't want to tip off the other team. Breaking it down into squads was a bit much though. If it has to be that way, at least just split it into the two sides. I know we want to recreate BF2, but I think we're better of having two factions instead of sixteen squads

I like how it breaks you up into squads on TS... It was best in BF2, all comms were inter-squad except for the SL who could call commander.

It's pointless to me to have one giant TS channel, even if its separated by teams. Nothing worse than hearing, "there's a sniper behind the rock by the tank!"

I just noticed the TS server did not get restarted after a reboot of the server it resides on ...

It is back up, use it if you like, if not ignore it

I know you enjoy hearing people scream when you knife them, but many others enjoy the TEAM aspects of this game.

I was getting PMs, people in the server pulling me to the side and another group that simply refused to use TS with 30 guys on one channel blabbering away.

There was even a thread on here about this, with which I wholeheartedly agreed with.

Guys this is really simple, if you don't like TS - don't use it. If you do, have fun with it. If you want to be in a group channel, then it will accommodate that until we hit 9 players, then it divides into channels. When it hits 16 total it splits into squads.

My preference would be to never have a combined channel, but we do that to make start-ups less boring... and to accommodate what you guys asked for.

Best to squad up, our folks should do that anyway. Schultzy pointed out the squad leader can boot people, to make room for our guys on TS. '

I like TS, even if it takes some getting used to at the moment, but I would caution against booting people from squads. Doesn't seem to be a good way to keep people invested in the server. I never boot anyone from my squad unless they do something way out of line. Instead, I am much more likely to use squad text chat to get them involved.

Good point, but I am not advocating kicking a guy out of the server, just your squad, if you are in there "alone".

And Golden is correct, if we only had what we had in BF2 and 2142 we would not be having this discussion.

I have gotten two-three people to join our TS. Most folks who want to play with a squad will do this, or will say they're not interested and are OK with moving to a different squad. Those that don't want to play with a squad wont notice you removed them from your squad for others.

And yeah, I don't promote kicking people unless there are comms involved. And by kicking, I mean only from the squad - not from the server.



Also, I have a second gripe - if you're going to be squad lead, please be a squad lead, or rotate to someone who knows how to/are willing to learn. That's a different kind of discussion though.

i was in my squad yesterday and i got in the chopper...apache got in the guner seat...he was in another squd and i was in another and had no way of talking to him....when i can talk to my gunnner we can be deadly and greater odds of ownage in the chopper....i understand that theres a need for squad only chat ...i do miss the great fun of team chat though we all was having .....HARDCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
