    Boring without Teamplay

This game is flat out boring when you cannot work with a few people together. I constantly find myself out in some field alone with little to no support, taking on two-three guys at once. :\ (Insert homosexual innuendo)

I hear that Procon crashes the server - is there any word on splitting up the channels so you can work as a squad without 14 people chattering?

On the other side of the coin, it's damned fun when you have 2-3 people playing together.

Yeah it is very frustrating running around by yourself. The fun factor goes up 10x with a good squad on voip.

HC does promote sniper and the server is always full of recons.

I think there are more eng then anything else. I have been playing recon only for the spawn beacon.

I find myself wanting desperately to play Assault, as I find it to be rarely played, but often needed. Worse, when I am assault, I can play by myself for awhile.... But I cannot handle fighting tanks because there's naught I can do against them.

          Just makes it really frustrating.

I have to agree about the teamplay, but boring maybe not be the word.

This is my take. There are x amount of guys that like to ride in vehicles. I'm not one of em, so that puts me in a different category. What I'm seeing is that our effectiveness as a team diminishes when you have a bunch of guys in a squad, but they are all split up.

What would be great is that if you had tank drivers, pilots, and snipers pair up with others who like to do that. So that the ground pounders could squad up and at least spawn on each other and have some kind of continuity to the play.

As it is now, I cant tell you how many times I've been in squads with pilots and armor guys and had no where to spawn. And if I did it was by myself.

I know this is a hard thing to ask cause it's changes during the game. But if you are inclined to only drive armor, fly or snipe. Do everyone a favor and just look for others who do the same thing. I played a lot last nite with squaddies that were either in the air or in armor and I had to spawn from the base if we didnt have any objectives. Not big deal, and I'm not mad at anyone, but on the bigger maps it just takes so much time to get back in the fight. Plus it's hard to go up against armor by yourself.

Just something to consider when you're choosing squads. Get on voip and let everyone know what you want to be doing and squad up accordingly.

I think we could be a better team like that. And like Shultzy said, it's frustrating when you dont have help to do certain things. So from now on I'll be asking in game who wants to play infantry with me.

Yeah Cobalt, I can't tell you how many times my squad just sits in vehicles, or at least the SL. I am like you, I am a ground pounder. Foot soldier if you will. I usually have a terrible K/Dr, but I usually have one of the high scores because I just like to capture points, and actually do things that help win lol.

Armor guys don't even need to squad: armor is on points, where you can spawn without squad. I'll grab it if it's around, but don't just sit and wait for the stuff.

As for squad play, last night I was sticking with my squad better than I usually do, and it was fun (but then of course it was getting late and I was talking/laughing to loud to continue [according to sources in the home]). Otherwise I often have a tendency of spawning on flashing points with no friendlies around, regardless of squad objective, to try to save the point, or flashing points with friendlies outnumbered by enemy (which is why it's often bad voodoo to spawn on me) to help them out and get in the fight. I am getting better at resisting these urges, but I still do them at times...because losing points is tough too, and I like to shoot.

When I'm squad leader and am in armor, all you need to do is ask me to step out so you can spawn on me. Set for auto-deploy. The first chance I get, I hop out, you spawn, I get back in, off we go.

I play a variety, depending on the situation. Last night I was flying with a decent pilot in the attack helo, so I spent 3 or 4 rounds almost completely in the air. Other times I won't even jump in a vehicle except to get from point a to point b unless I happen upon a tank or APC. Then I'll see how many kills I can get before I get blown up.

I think Cobalt put it in a much more comprehensive way than I did.

I'm the versatile player. There isn't much I cannot do. I find myself having more fun working with infantry though. The big thing that made me want to start this discussion (though it was done more in frustration, and therefore looks like bitching) was that I couldn't get any kind of squad play going on. Vehicle or infantry centric, I was stuck with either people with sniper scopes stuck to their face, or people who already had full vehicles... And so I was hoofing it everywhere. Not much an issue, except I was alone and frequently in positions where I was going "Man, I can see a massive tactical advantage to my position if I had a support/enginer/assault/recon with me..."

I just want to play - if vaguely - tactically with other people. Vehicle or Infantry either or.

I agree. It's miserable playing "by yourself" in a squad. Most people don't issue squad commands, costing us both points.

What makes this worse is the way squads work. Because there are so many people playing, a lot of times you can't create a squad for your friends to join.

I don't hop on TS right now, because there generally is just too much going on in there. Once all of that settles down, I'm definitely back in. For now, I use skype with kreed

But, as has been mentioned, a single good squad can change the outcome of a match.
