My installation is all messed up.

I'll give that one a try, thanks. Is origin still in Beta? If you look in the shot below you can see it says beta and that BF3 says ready to install but it stops and this is where some window pops up but disappears before I get a chance to see what it says.

Yes my Origin is still has the same Beta title after their latest update.

Also, in Origin, I clicked Setup (the gear) -> about
It shows Origin Beta / Version 8.3.1.9 - etc.

Lol, Origin wont let me uninstall BF3 and there is no option to repair it, it's like it disappeared. So they said this is a known problem and they will call me back, I also got a %20 off coupon for some other Origin product. I will update this thread when it gets resolved.

Now I have to unplug for a few days so I will not be fragging you until Sunday or so.

I never had any issues like their with Steam, Origin blows and has tainted my experience of this game. It brought me back to the days when the first hours on any game were spent tweaking you config files to get the thing to run properly. Booooo Origin.

I keep getting the message that there is a game running in the background that needs to be closed before it will launch. Needless to say there isnt anything running in background. Uninstalled and reinstalled origin. No dice. Guess ill reinstall bf3.

We're hijacking Duke's thread. If any of this helps or not, please start a new thread to discuss.

Rumours:
- Some people had luck using Firefox browser instead of Internet Explorer.
- Others have had to disable virus-scan & firewall (not good). You could try changing your firewall settings to force allowing BF3 to pass. The report mentioned that the same error message occurs, but then find BF3 running in task manager. After cancelling that, Origin could launch the game.

If you're still having trouble, durka_durka's post discusses how he recovered BF3 after a friend attempted to logon and play.

log out of Origin and rename the 'bf3.exe_DiP_STAGED' file to 'bf3.exe'

I tried removing all aspect of origin but when I went to reinstall it it said it was already installed. origin is like a nasty STD except there was no fun involved in getting it.

I'm downloading the game for the third time and I'll see what happens.

Did I mention that I never had theses issues with Steam.

I guess the third times the charm, I played a few round with no issues unless I tuned me EVGA precession on.
