Yup, there are plenty of games that use up to 4gb or RAM. So now a days, 8gb is really the gamers choice.

No way in hell it uses that much. Just not possible. You had some other program leaking.Originally posted by Brian is Huh?!{CLR} View Post
caspain uses about 3.5gig ram.. during heavy firefights.
.
I mean their RECOMMENDED requirement says
So... just not possible.Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB

sure it is possible. It is completely possible. Most games recommended requirements do not even run the game smoothly maxed. NEVER go by what they "recommend".Originally posted by K PhaNTOM View PostNo way in hell it uses that much. Just not possible. You had some other program leaking.

If you bothered to do your research, you will find that it is not unlikely that is could use 3.5gb. I mean heck, they recommend a GTX 560. This card has 1gb vram, when @ 1080p rez caspian was using 1.5gb or vram.... Riddle me that.

Very nice! You will be very happy with that upgrade. Like the above poster said what cooling?
If I may suggest, if you are on a budget and don't want to spend much, pick up a Cooler Master Hyper 212+. It is a very good cooler and cost only $30
If you want something more robust, I would get a Corsair H60/H80/H100.
That is my suggestions.

Actually, that's what I ordered (COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus). I do have a very nice Zalman on my current board.Originally posted by slice View PostVery nice! You will be very happy with that upgrade. Like the above poster said what cooling?

Newegg.com - ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
But I don't really want to mess around with the old CPU and motherboard (it's going straight into my daughter's computer case). Anyways, I figure I won't be overclocking the CPU to severely since the bottleneck will most likely be the video card.--Bones--

I currently have a Hyper 212+ with a 2500k @ 4.5ghz. No problems here and temps even under full load do not see above 65c. The Corsair units do cool much better and upwards of up to 10-15c cooler. I will be upgrading to an H80 soon, but am thinking of spending that money on adding a second 6950 instead.Originally posted by Bon3z View PostActually, that's what I ordered (COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus). Good luck man! OC these things is so easy. The easiest OC I have ever done period.

Did you change anything besides the multiplier to get a stable 4.5GHz? I have mine OCed to 4.1 right now, but thinking of going higher. I have a Corsair H70, so cooling shouldn't be an issue.Originally posted by slice View PostI currently have a Hyper 212+ with a 2500k @ 4.5ghz. No, All I am doing now is a multi change. The voltage under full load does not see higher than around 1.35ish... Most everything else is on auto.Originally posted by Dead...Again View PostDid you change anything besides the multiplier to get a stable 4.5GHz? First of all, you don't read the minimum requirements, recommended are for settings High and Ultra.Originally posted by slice View PostNEVER go by what they "recommend".
And you are confusing vRam with real RAM. You don't add your 1.5GB of vRam to your other 1.5GB running on the real RAM.
vRam does not count.
