Am I the only one who has always been a crappy pilot? I am a good gunner and what not, but I was never a good pilot.

Same here. I flew the blackhawks well in bc2, but that's about it, I think.

Flying that low in the beta = death
I usually can play pretty well with helis and jets but in the beta the lag was the main issue. Hope these issues are resolved!!

The problem with jets are the lead times with the guns. I couldn't get it right while flying. Also had to reduce my speed just to hit the hovering heli that I was trying to kill.

Its easier to ram into the plane then anything else.

I could get from point a to point b in a blackhawk in BF2. That's the extent of my flying "skills." I couldn't do the same in BC2 because of whatever they changed with the controls, and I couldn't fly attack birds.

yeah same here. I never like games that are easy and anyone can do the same things. That is why I always loved BF series is because there is so much variety and styles of play that come into effect. Not to mention not everyone can fly, and the really good pilots stand out.

I couldn't fly jets at all. Put me in the cockpit of one of those, and about all I could do was get it off the ground and avoid ramming into buildings. Shooting and bombing were way beyond me.

But choppers, oh sweet choppers. They were so nice in BF2. Never got into them in BC2 because of that whole not having my gamepad working in Win7 thing.

In BF2, I tried flying with KB/Mouse, but I sucked horribly at it. Got a joystick and it made all the difference in the world. In BC2, no joystick, I was able to fly the transports OK but really sucked at the attack helos. I gotta get me a joystick or XBOX controller...

Does anyone use an XBOX controller to fly? DOes it work well?

Hmm, I have an xbox360 controller that I use to play FIFA and other games that use it. I wonder if it will work better than a kb+m in BF3.

Yeah, I have been wanting to pick up an XBOX controller for games designed to work with it. It'd be nice if it worked flying also...

i use my keyboard and mouse to fly with on all the bf games ...havent ever try buying a joy stick to do it with and im sure its really nice ...but i can do really well for what i have here so i never seen the need for the stick

I can make a heli dance or drop a bomb through a moving jeep window with a jet. Oh how I miss wake island and getting 70 kills and 0 deaths, lol.

Now you will have everyone an eng just shooting from the deck of the carrier. I doubt that will happen anymore.
