I haven't logged in since Friday or Saturday. I can't play the game and just get really frustrated with the slideshowing and seeing death messages pop up WAY before anything on the screen indicates I've been shot. I may or may not log in just to hang for a short bit with some CLRs, but I rage quit the beta right fast.

Thus, a new PC purchase yesterday 6 months earlier than I was planning.

I actually think the website is smarter than the in-game option. If you need to make changes in the future, this way you just change the website. If it's done in the game you have to change that and push out a patch for everyone to download and install.

Now I just open a page on my browser, login, and choose a server. It automagically opens Origin and starts the game. Pretty easy.

Except now you have to deal with some innate browser issues such as memory leaks and compatibility. Who knows though, they may improve browser fixes due to the mass of people complaining and reporting issues like they do to improve video drivers!

How about a "Choose a squad" function? THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT TO BF is the one thats missing....

The problem is, typically when one issue is "Fixed", another three arise.
"You cannot have 'slaughter' without having 'laughter'"
"If I had wanted to show off, I would have been a porn star."

Exactly. As well as any vulnerabilities that come with having IE, Firefox, Chrome, ect., open all the time for the game. An in game interface would be more secure, and if written right, you won't have the web browser issues to worry about.

One of the finest features of many Source games is the ability to bring up a box with the server and click "retry" until it lets you in. Back when Cain ran DoD, DoD:Source and TF2, it was great to open up the server info, see who was on, and if it was full, just click on the retry button, and then after a slot opens up, you'd automatically get in. This is one feature that I just can't see a way to implement into a webpage.

What the web interface tells me that they were just being lazy (the game Combat Arms also uses one, and it's one of the reasons I don't play it anymore). But, given how beautiful the game looks graphically, I guess they had to scrimp somewhere.

At the start of beta it seemed to put me in a que for a server. Maybe that will start back up.
