    China hijacks BitTorrent sites

China Hijacks Popular BitTorrent Sites | TorrentFreak

I am so freaking happy I don't live in that country with all of the things that they do to the internet.

They can stop the big sites for amateurs, but never be able to stop private trackers. Good luck to them thou, at least they are doing something.

They're not stopping them, they're hijacking the DNS and directing users to China's main search engine. Try reading the article Phantom *grins*

China has since removed the blocks, but it was clearly a DNS hijack according to the article, rather than a mix up, according to the Chinese. China's not worried about blocking illegal downloads of digital material, they're worried about controlling their population.

I read the article, redirects to their google etc etc. I'm just saying they can't stop their people from getting what they want.
