We had a virus on a pal's laptop.

Ran Norton- no deal.
Ran Spybot- no deal.
Ran AVG- no deal.
Ran Windows Defender- no deal.
Ran Zone Labs- no deal.
Ran Avira- That thing ripped the guts out of the virus and cleared the mess up.

How do you know that you don't have a virus? Not all of them let themselves be known.

Look, any extra process means more load on my CPU and I for one, love my CPU and don't plan to spend big bucks on getting a new one cuz i loaded too much on it. I bet you don't even turn ur PC off at night or anything... just put it on stand by?.... Don't be surprised to see me and my PC are getting married when the technology makes it real

As for me not having viruses... I simply don't care... if you have handled as many viruses as I did, then you would know if you had them or if you simply dont have any.

Actually, turning it off regularly does more damage than leaving it on. Computer components heat up a lot, think turning a light on and off.... the expansion then contraction eventually breaks down certain parts.
Unless you run programs or operating systems with memory leaks, or other progressive failures, its better to just leave it on

This PC has only been turned off when i add something new to it. Other than that it gets rebooted once every 2 weeks.
