    IE8 > Windows XP

    And not in a good way. IE 8 consumes more RAM than Windows XP |Enterprise Desktop | Randall C. Kennedy | InfoWorld

    I'm happy with Firefox personally, and looking forward to seeing what Google lays out on the table today when they release Chrome.

    Keep in mind it is a beta, and as such has a lot of extra stuff going on .. but .. yea, that just isn't good that IE8 is more of a resource pig than XP.
    Beta or not, there is no compelling reason to make IE your only browser in this day and age.

      I agree that it's beta and that they should slim it down before release. But just the fact that it's taking more resources even during the beta stage isn't a good indicator in my opinion. Not to mention I haven't been happy with a version of IE since, ummmm, not really sure when. Thankfully we have choices though

        Yeah, From what I saw, I think as an integrator I would be sending it back to the coders and telling them to start from scratch and don't send it back to me until it was ready for prime time.
