    Free MS software for students

    Free (honest!) and it includes MS Server 2003

    https://downloads.channel8.msdn.com/Products.aspx

    Requirements:
    What do I need in order to access, download, and use the Microsoft software I get on DreamSpark?
    Only what you probably already have:

    * A PC with a Windows OS
    * An Internet connection (broadband suggested)
    * An Internet browser
    * A Windows Live ID account

    Q: What to do if your school is not listed in the program ??
    A: Use their alternative method. It mentions that it will cost $2.95, but they never ask for the money.

    Q: What Microsoft software does this site offer?
    A: Currently, you can get the following Microsoft software from DreamSpark:

    * Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition
    * Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition
    * Expression Studio (includes Web, Blend, Media and Design)
    * SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition
    * Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, with SP2

    Oh, and by the way? These are the serious versions for serious people. We?re talking, the big-time stuff.

    In addition, in the spirit of ?one stop shopping?, you can also download from this site the following software currently available on www.microsoft.com at no charge):

    * SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
    * Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition
    * XNA Game Studio 2.0 (with 12-month Creators Club trial membership)
    * Virtual PC

    Q: Are these 30-day trial versions of the software?
    A: The Microsoft developer, designer and gaming tools available on DreamSpark are NOT 30-day trial versions; they?re the complete and full professional grade versions, although your use of this software is governed by the DreamSpark software license terms.
