ram question

I have the gadget showing the ram/CPU usage.
The ram has been from 16-18 usually. Today for some reason its staying at 37%. CPU is at 0%
I ran the windows virus scan with nothing showing. I haven't adding anything to the system. Wondering what it could be and where I should look.
Any ideas?

Task manager should show you all of the processes running as well as how much memory they are using.

I know firefox will chew up a good amount after a while.

I will check the task manager to see if it is running anything in the background. I took off a couple of things and got it down 4 % points. Have to wait until I get back from work.
