Its something like 20$ a month Verizon DSL. Although we had AOL till like 3 or 4 years ago. And sadly my phone has faster internet than my computer but i would have terrible ping if i tetheredOriginally posted by Quamin View PostPumpkin, that deal they gave you is NOT that good!
Ok June this is what I hate about people not from NY..... Its more than just a city!!!!! I live in farm land. We are 30-40mins from the nearest major city and about 8hrs from NYC. Just north of lockport which is just about the smallest group of land to be called a city. The internet we have is the second from the best available but my parents wont pay 50$ a month for 250kb/s vs 100kb/s at 20$ a monthOriginally posted by juneau View PostFrom a British perspective, to get .09-.12mb/s in NY just seems, wrong. You live out in the middle of nowhere or something PJ? I thought the infrastructure in NY state would be top class no matter where you live (depending on town size of course), or do they save it all for NYC?

I know there is more than NYC, that's why I said "infrastructure in NY state would be top class no matter where you live (depending on town size of course)". And asked if you "lived in the middle of nowhere".
You can get better internet speeds in remote areas of Scotland than you're getting in (what i presume to be) one of the richest states in the US.
Which is a surprise to me.

Comcast caps the people with slower download speeds. When I had the 1mb connection, after downloads over 1GB it always slowed me down to a halt. Now that I upgraded to 60mb, they don't anymore. Weird on their part.
However, I don't see why your speed matters in a game. All you need is a .5mb connection to play. Nothing too tasking on your internet. It's all those packets that you lose. In cobalt's case, all of them.
