Any idea on when normal people can get Gingerbread? I use a Galaxy S.

I'm waiting for the Gingerbread update on my Atrix as well. Should improve battery life since it is optimized for dual cores.

it may be a long wait for the Galaxy S.

By normal people I mean people who do not own a Droid X. I need to update this rust bucket.

I love my Droid X. It's one of the few things in my life that I've bought that has exceeded my expectations.

Ony major differences I notice in Gingerbread are the keyboard and notification bar change. Then again maybe my phone is too old to appreciate the improvements (OG Droid).

in the gingerbread updates for the Droid X, i notice the changes:
                        1. Favorite buttons are now on the bottom
                        2. color on the notification top is blue and is more noticeable.
                        3. App organization
                        4. Battery Management (really useful for battery eating phones)
                        5. Short to Android Market.
                        6. Contacts are more organized (alphabetically, sorta like how the iPhones are)
                        7. FASTER LOL... i bench mark at 2200 stock without having any of my apps run.
1900 with my apps running in the background.
                        8. pressing Home key/button spreads the screens into 7 mini screens.
                        9. Changes in stock widgets.
