    Tethering Rocks!

Ok guys, I bought an unlocked International version of the Galaxy S I9000. I got a SIM from Cellcom an Israel cell carrier and they fixed me up with unlimited data, a cell number and a few SMS messages(which I don't care about) for about 60 bucks a month.

Now with the unlimited data plan and the unlocked phone, I've been using it for internet access anytime I want and up to the 5 device limit on the galaxy.

I have to say this method of internet access rocks. I can't imagine what it would be like with a 4g connection on the Verizon network.

I'm getting so spoiled on this way of accessing the internet I don't know how I'll adapt to the cable modem way of doing things. Other than speed, this way rocks.

I was stuck in DTW airport several weeks ago for six hours... used the 4G/internet sharing from my phone (for laptop) and I must say I was floored by the speed. I don't have 4G in my area so this was my first real test with 4G. I was VERY impressed.

4G is coming to my area around June according to VZW.

Welcome to the Galaxy S club! How are you liking it Doug? Are you connecting via 3G or HSDPA?

I have the APN WCDMA so it's mostly HSDPA but it flips to 3G once in a while. The speed isn't the greatest, but its really kewl to connect what I want thru it and have the hotspot when ever I need it. When we went on our Red Sea trip Sunday I kept it turned on in the car and we used google maps the whole way and everybody browsed the web, checked mail, etc.
