I have monitors, mouse and keyboards. Sound, I remember, I use to simply plug in a headset into the board

Here is one I priced out yesterday while exploring a possible build for Min-Duke, It's $729 without a case. I am not endorsing any of these parts it just was a brainstorm shopping list but ti should be close.

KPhantom, I wish I had that money lying around. Like I said, I'm going to be shopping for parts so it will be a while before I actually have this baby at my desk.

Infamous, I was actually reading about the 2500k and it actually led me to creating this thread. Here is the article I was looking at:

            http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/t...2100-tested/20

Now, I don't OC my systems so that is a no-biggie for me. And I'm assuming that you will need a nice hefty system to be able to get the numbers on the articles?

DUKE! Thank you so much! I will take a look at that system.

EDIT: If you guys have other systems you will like me to take a look at, please link it!

              BTW Welcome back Tuqui LTNS.

If I were building I would really try for a 560 Ti card but it's in the $250.00 range.

Maybe take a look at AMD's CPU offerings? You can build a gaming PC for a lot less money than going the Intel route.

People seem to have forgot about AMD these days. They're not offering an inferior product or anything.

AMD... if they can offer great performance for a fraction of the price, please give me chip names

they seem to charge you 20$ per stock 200mhz. that chip is 158, the 3.2 ghz is 139 etc.

they make reasonably priced 6 core chips for right at 200$ too

i just dont like the 6 core idea, ill stick with multiples like 2,4,8 etc.
                    mother boards range from $60-$250+

                    Ram is cheap anymore.
I was going to post a similar thing, Infamous. I've heard nothing but good things about the 965 quad-core (my last build was one of the phenom 3.0 quad cores, but that one was limited to ddrII, so I upgraded eventually). I have the six core 1090T 3.2ghz now and I love it...nothing slows it down, but it's 40 bucks more...and I'm sure the 965 would be great.

OCing really is the key to getting the best bang for your buck. OC'd the 2500k can beat out a $1k i7-980x (6core)on everything but the best multithreaded apps. Clock for clock its faster then its 1156/1366 predecessors. If you go to cheap now you will regret it later also. The new intel cheaps OC very easy, you just increase the multiplier and add a little voltage if needed. As for AMD ill defer to the other guys, I stopped doing them a while back. But I will say you get your best bang for buck with OCing.

Dukes build is a pretty good base. I would add a better HS/fan.

                      My future upgrade

The shipping can add $10 to $20 bucks to your case so I always click on the free shipping filter for cases and here are two below that may fit you budget. Now this is a very personal choice because beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I will give it a shot if I were building it today I would probably go with this Lian Li case, It's $69.00 with free shipping.
Newegg.com - LIAN LI Lancool PC-K58W Black 0.8 mm SECC, Plastic Mesh ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

If you like the gaming look then this one would be a bit cheaper and still has free shipping. $49.00 with a rebate and free shipping.
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 Black SECC ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Here is one for a little less, $39.99 after rebate and free shipping.
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Elite 430 RC-430-KWN1 Black Steel Plastic Computer Case

All of theses should allow for a longer video card based on the reviews i read.

If you have a local computer outlet near your home you might get lucky and find a nice case there. Usually saves you shipping.
