Viewing media on an Android phone.

I seem to be having a bit of an issue getting my photos on my new phone without using the Vcast software. Do I need to get some app out there to share my media from my PC to my phone?

I just connect my droid and drop compatible files in the appropriate folders, although I guess that's on my card. No issues when I do that.

Hmmm for some reason I can't drag and drop anything, maybe I will try and create a file on it and get some photos.

Hmm when I click on the drive icon it open up a Verizon window that want me to download some Vcast software, I don't want any V software.

Should be a setting in there somewhere on the phone "Mass storage support mode" or something similar. This is on my blackberry and also one my step sons moto android. You need to turn this on to be able to drag/drop stuff in. The reason is your computer AND the phone cannot both have access to the memory at the same time.

Same with my phone. Just connect the USB cable and view like attached storage.

With my Atrix, it shows up as a mobile device, and I can access some of the memory. It also opens a phone portal in my browser that allows me to access various things in the phone.

I will try my wife's Inspire when I get a chance.

ok on mine i do this....
put in usb cable
drag down the notification bar
change from charge only to disk drive mode
open up my puter
got e: (my phone)
and put where ever i want
then disconnect (safly of cos via windows)
change from drive to charge mode again.
tada!

yea you need to enable USB storage from the notification window otherwise you can't access the folders

When I connect my wife's Inspire, it gives the option to mount it as a HDD. Then it shows up under My Computer.

Ahhh after reading this it jumped out at me, thanks. I dragged an album over to it and used Winamp to listen to it. Is there a way to sync play lists between my PC and Android phone?

My HTC uses wmp playlists via htcsync...
Not sure if others are the same thou.

Know this cos it keeps trying to put 100s of gigs of stuff on my phone lmao.

I haven't tried sync'in anything to my phone. Just copy mp3 when I want more music and that's it.
