Enthusiast Sandy bridge to come out end of the year.

A new socket for us hardware addicts so don't spend all your money yet.

For example, the chips will carry "extra large cache" to maximize speed of single-threaded or dual-threaded applications, quad-channel memory controller and a number of other enhancements.

I saw something about that here at work the other day. I think it will be a desktop version of the Sandy Bridge Server CPU.

I hear the word "enthusiast" and my mind jumped to $999 right away lol.
Old school or the new, doesn't mean a thing if your heart's not true...

Well it may be cheaper due to the fact hat the regular CPUs have amazing power so they o=would have to have really amazing power to catch a premium price.

Yeah, me too. And I thought of how pointless it is when the 2600K and 2500K are basically equal to the current $999 special "enthusiast" chip anyway, at between $213 and $330 or so retail.

I'll take my $213 chip please.
