    Headset upgrade

UPS man came today. God is Great

Im amazed by this Newegg.com - Corsair CA-HS1NA USB Connector Circumaural Headset Corsair HS1. Just came out last month. They feel light and dont squeeze your head. I have Newegg.com - ABS AZ1 Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound Light Weight Circumaural USB Gaming Headset AZ-1 headset for a few years now but that hurt my head after a while. When I build my new PC, I went with the Newegg.com - Turtle Beach TBS-2114 Earforce HPA2 5.1 Surround Sound Headset with Amplifier and Removable Microphone Turtle Beach Ear Force HPA2. It uses the 4 3.5mm connections and a USB (for power) The name Turtle Beach alone sounds cheap but I have great experience with the Newegg.com - Turtle Beach Xbox360 Wireless Gaming Headset Ear Force X41 Turtle Beach Ear Force X41 on the xbox360 over those el cheapo included headset the 360 comes with.

I admit, the Corsair HS1 comfort wise is a little better on the head over the Turtle Beach HPA2. The cushion ear cup is more softer then the HPA2 but I did like HPA2 firmer cushion cup.

    Sound wise:

I'm not a audio freak so I used the old COD4 theme
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9xdu0KVIYQ
On the Corsair HS1, It sounds great since my Turtle beach HPA2 has a very light sudder on the deeper notes.

    I also used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GCYUFdhCFI&hd=1 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IssgDh1cWug&hd=1

Over all, I'm happy with my investment. (Feel like I'm trying to do a review in this post ) Just wish I didnt bought the X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro since the Corsair HS1 use the USB port But What better reason to get me a speaker setup And for the records, Creative Labs drivers work fine. Must be a Windows XP user issue

But it sure looks purrty in mi case

    Thanks for reading

PLANTRONICS GameCom 367 Closed-ear 3.5mm Circumaural Stereo Headset
    Newegg.com - PLANTRONICS GameCom 367 Closed-ear 3.5mm Circumaural Stereo Headset

This is what I use, and at only $40. It fits comfortably (and I have a big head). The ear pieces are large, so they completely surround your ears. The padding is ample, and the covering is some type of nylon/cloth. I've had some headphones in the past where the padding would flatten and the covering material would toughen.

The sound seems fine to me. But I don't see much of a sound difference regardless of the headset I use.

The mic does swivel to become in-line with the headset and practically disappears. This means you don't have to worry about the mic unless you want to use it.

      Looks nice, Caddys.

I've got a Plantronics as well, Nico, a GamCom Pro 1 (I can't find it on NewEgg, maybe it's too old already). Anyway, it also has very good sound (good sound = probably about 40% of FPS kills [or avoiding being killed], IMO).

I used to have a Plantronics. Had good sound, but cheap quality. I broke it...

Now I have a Sennheiser connected to an X-Fi Fatality Gamer. Sound is awesome.

You're not far off. I just take a strip of Scotch Tape and tape it in place

Thanks, Caddys. Mine's dead now...I guess because we were talking about it (or one too many times under my chair: mic died).

So I picke up this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-281-_-Product On sale at local store for $99. I liked my plantronics, but this seemed to be the best deal for what was in stock, and I wasn't going to wait for UPS.

Oooo Nice. I was watching the Tigerdirect.TV on youtube and I like the features. I like the volume controls on the headset itself vs the inline controls that sometimes you cant find if it falls off ur lap and you need to quickly change the vol or what not.

Is the over the ears material vinyl or cloth?

It's vinyl, or faux leather . Anyway, I like them so far. I would have kept my Plantronics, but the mic quit on me.
