New rig!

Within the month I will be building a new rig and wanted to pass my specs by you guys to see what you think!

* HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
* PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

These come out to $984.94. My original budget was $1000, so I was right on. I don't need to buy a case, OS, DVD drive, or any peripherals.

I will be taking this one off to college with me in a few months, so it will be used for everything (gaming, school work, etc). I just got a new 24 inch monitor (1920 x 1080) a few days ago and I love it. Does it all look good??

I tend to look more at the lower end of power-user (full machine parts costing to between 2000-2500), but this looks ok to me. Though I've had too many HD failures and close calls to ever, ever go with a machine that just had one.

Well I decided to upgrade to the i7-860 CPU instead (as I found it for $229 at Microcenter and just did an in-store pickup) and ordered the rest today!

Unfortunately there is some weird error in that my address/phone number I entered don't match up with those the credit card company has (although I'm sure they are the same) so I gotta sort that out now! At least I feel good knowing Newegg actually does check everything to prevent fraud.
