    For Sale

I got an ATI chipset 5770 1gb vid card for sale. Used one night. Performance not what I expected so went back to my 9800 GT and oc'd the heck out of it. Its an off brand card but it was all I could get over here.

Paid $170 take $125 for it + shipping. No use for it, so I'll take the money and apply it to buying Duke's GTX 275.

Windows performance rating with it in there rated 7.1 for the video test. Nothing wrong with it, just not happy with the comparison. Thought I would get more out of it than the other one oc'd.

A 5770 should destroy a 9800GT. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the specific game you tried it on as this does happen to both Nv and ATI.

I was playing with the idea of getting one for my 8800gts (768 MB).
But after the numerous reports about the performance of this card, I'll have to wait a while longer.

Keep in mind that a refresh ship of the 5000 series will be out later this summer.

        There's no such thing as a 768mb 8800GTS. They did 320mb, 640mb, and finally the 512mb.

        I have a feeling you mean a 8800GTX.

Question is, why would you want a 3 year old gfx card.

          It was on BC2.

I dont know about destroy it but with the Nvidia at stock clocks the ATI will definitely beat it, but I have the Nvidia jacked up pretty high. The Nvidia runs fairly good, but I just didnt like the drop off in intense demand. The AtI didnt drop off as much as the Nvidia but I dont want any drop like either of them do. I guess I'm just asking too much maybe. Plus I only used it that one night, and didnt attempt to overclock the ATI.

Duke has me convinced the GTX 275 will do the job. I still have room to go on my processor too. But have to wait to apply water. Dont want to push it too much on stock cooling. All this is just to get me by the next couple of months until I get home. I'll build a new one once I get there and will need everyone's help.

It does appear that it's a game/driver issue then. Pity. The 5770 is a great card for the price.
