im running dual 8800GTS's its a huge improvement above my old 6600. I run most games at high graphics, but i always do things like turn shadows and stuff down anyway. so im good, but not great.Originally posted by juneau View PostI'm still running my 8800GTS and it's still doing me proud. I think i'll upgrade next year.

And yet people keep saying ATI is such the bombay....if it were, then more than 1/3 would buy it me thinks....
2nd best is my OS- Win 7 64
Most startling?
the 1.56% who are "other" in the vid card survey. The only "other" I can think of is onboard graphics. Holy cow that is insane.

Woot Nvidia FTW!
As for the "other," wouldn't onboard graphics be either ATI, Nvidia or Intel?
I know PowerVR is still around I think the company is now called Imagination Technologies or something. They still make GPU cards but their core market now days is mobile *cough Iphone *cough (and such) and handheld products.

You're forgetting that ATI have only been the king of the grpahics card domain for around 8 months. That, mixed in with the fact that a very very small percentage of PC users update their hardware frequently means that it'll be pretty obvious that most people will be using Nvidia.Originally posted by Hammy View PostAnd yet people keep saying ATI is such the bombay....if it were, then more than 1/3 would buy it me thinks....
Example.... me. I'm still running a 8800GTS. But if i had to buy now guess where i would be heading?
Oh and let's not forget the prebuilt market. Up until recently Dell used Nvidia for the majority of it's PC's. Iirc only the Alienware range now uses Nvidia exclusively.
@Caddys. Stop being a fanboy will ya.

okay- so I dont get what you are saying Juneau. How are they kings if they are not selling the volume and the user adoption is low?Originally posted by juneau View PostYou're forgetting that ATI have only been the king of the grpahics card domain for around 8 months. From my Software Career- that just says you are in the leadership category on innovation, which is only 1 of 4 criteria for being a bonifide product of excellence.

Where did i mention kings exactly? I'm just pointing out that they have the better range of cards available at this very second. It has been proven by adopters and reviewers of these very cards that not only do they destroy Nvidia's aging range, but they're also cheaper or closely priced.Originally posted by Hammy View Postokay- so I dont get what you are saying Juneau. At the end of the day the majority of PC users probably don't even know what brand of graphics card is inside their little box by the desk let alone care.
The selling power of a product is rarely a good way to judge it's quality. Case in point, the iPod.
Anyway. That's enough from me. I'm not here to argue, i'm here to help.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking.Originally posted by K PhaNTOM View PostI didn't know I signed up on them monitoring my hardware... Guess I should give the ULA a read some time.
The sad thing with my setup is that I dont really know what I have, and frankly dont care. As long as it works and doesnt slow me down, its all good. Bought my setup a few years ago. All I'm really worried about these days is hard drive storage space and backups
[this is where my funky sig would go. But I don't have one.
So all you get is this crappy text]
