    Any thoughts on this monitor?

It's a 23" for $219.00. it also has a lot of good reviews but the response time is 5ms isn't that bad for gaming?

    Duke,

It should be a great monitor for the price. I have a Samsung 225BW...22" and I paid $400 for it a year or two ago. Works great, as far as I'm concerned. Here are the specs on mine: the one you're looking at should do the trick.

Specifications (taken from Samsung.com press release):

    Screen Size: 22 inches
Aspect Ratio: 16:10 (Standard PC Widescreen)
    Resolution: 1680?1050
    Colors: 16.7 Million
    Brightness: 280cd/m2
    Contrast Ratio: 700:1
    Response Time: 5ms
    Viewing Angle: 160?/160? (CR>5)
Inputs: Analog RGB,DVI Digital Link (with HDCP support)
Special Features: MagicBright2, MagicColor and MagicTune.

Great price. I haven't had any problems with any Samsung products.

Kind of sucks that there's no HDMI although it does have HDCP support for Blueray playback. Also dislike that there's only tilt adjustment and no height adjustment. Other than that I can't see any problems for what you're paying for it.

Yes bit you might have to turn down a few things depending on the game.

What monitor would you be going from Duke?

Response time is yet another marketting gimmick. It started out as being useful in the days of 20+ms screens but now the quality of the actual display panels has risen it's pretty much redundant.

I assume that the dot pitch doesnt come into play with LCD or LED monitors just CRT.

Actually yes it does. They don't call it dot pitch on a LCD, it's called pixel pitch but it's the same thing in reference to handling resolution properly.
