Well a shop can set it's return policy however it wants. The thing is PC components are such a margin business that sellers often cheap out in some ways in order to save costs. 15 years ago I worked for a local PC shop. We mostly worked for small businesses. Specing out PCs and server builds and doing whole network installs and upgrades. We were not cheap. I think labor costs were 90 bucks an hour and if I had to touch a network cable it was 110 bucks an hour for the first hour. The thing is we were worth it. Why... if you bought equipment from us and it went bad. We would bring you a replacement part from our stock and take care of the RMA on our time. Let me say that again. I would get on my motorcycle and sometime in the day while doing other jobs I'd bring a new part out. Stop off and swap it. For free. We weren't cheap but, business owners liked that.
