Not really the issue. RMA's dont cost that much even when the bill-back-ship is manual, which EVGA's is not.

I'll try. Stupid thing with there forums is that they disabled private messaging. So it's actually hard to get hold of people quickly when they don't have any other contact methods listed.

I probably should have said that i have known the first person for a long time. It just didn't even cross my mind as being important.

Did your friend run Rivatuner that would have told him if the fan was blocked to the point that it stopped spinning? He also mentions temps but there were no specifics. I guess the lesson is that whenever you RMA something that you get some evidence in case they try to pull a fast one.
