    Major Internet Connection Issues

Well ever since I have upgraded my computer, I have had some SERIOUS connection issues. I've tried both my old USB Wireless adapter and my new PCI adapter that I bought but my internet has slowed DRASTICALLY and half the time it keeps timing out and d/c'n me. When I manage to stay on for a period of time, it has a tendency to cut my internet access and leave me with local access only. Every other computer and IPhone in the house that are either hard wired or wireless work fine.

What do you think it could possibly be?

All your drivers up to date?
    Are TCP/IP settings correct?
    Are your router settings correct?
Is this rig in a new/different location than past ones?
Is this just your connection on browsers? IM? Games?
Can you ping anything when you lose the connection?
What IP address do you have when you lose the connection?
Can you connect to other devices on your network?

Have you tried setting it on fire?

Drivers are up to date...when I comes to settings, I don't touch anything I just plug in adapter and connect like I did with old rig. Computer is in same spot as old one. IP when getting thrown off is always the same. Problem is with everything not just I'm or browser. I tried doing ipconfig /release /renew. An I don't want to light on fire cause I just put a bucket load of money in this LOL

I'm assuming based off your original post that this is a wireless connection. If it is, go to your network adapter setting and disable the wired connection if it isn't already. It shouldn't affect anything, but I've seen odd cases where it has before.

Another suggestion, try a Linux LiveCD with it and see how the wireless works.

Do you have lots of neighbors with wifi? It's quite possible your stepping on each others bandwidth. If you do have other AP's out around you go and get net stumbler. They have it for windows and linux. It will show you what is out there and on what channel. If you have multiple WLANs on the same channel you are sharing that frequency in the 2.4 ghz spectrum. This can result in loss of speed. Also if your using G and you have a B device on the same WLAN this can slpow down your G net to B speeds. Anyways use netstumbler and try to pick a channel no one else is using.
