    Tragedy narrowly averted.

Two days ago my wife tells me she needs a way to show Power Point presentations. My first thought was that she could use my XPS rig but "it was too big and clunky" Now it may be 10 lb monster but it's paid for but that didn't matter. The scary part is the she wanted a Mac Book Pro . I told her that it was an expensive option and we would paying mostly for looks and the extra light weight. She hung on to the idea until tonight when I was able to point out that for $799.00 she could get a laptop that was more powerful then her $2400.00 mac book pro. She ended up with a Toshiba E105-S1402 and I can now go to bed not having one of THOSE in my house.

    Lol

I got my daughter a Toshiba for her high school graduation. It a very nice laptop, better than mine...and, like you said, half, or less, the price of one of those...those trinkets.

      A.K.A the 'Apple Tax'.

I wish I could make that claim but my stepdaughter has several Ipods around the place.

Oh dear! Just one iPod is bad enough.

I tried to avoid it at all costs but the natural father stepped in and bought it for her. I never get in between the two of them so now it's Ipods and when Verizon can get an I phone I'm sure he will get her one.

                Hey

Yes personally I wouldn't pick a Mac over some other OS however I tend to be OS agnostic. Whatever floats your boat. On some level they (OSX) based systems maybe worth their weight in gold with in experienced users. Especially when dealing with trojans, virus and worms....
