Help with a user input database for a website

I have a friend who needs to add a registration section to an existing site.

Something along the lines of a form for users to fill out some information and then he would have access to it.

I really don't know much about this kind of stuff so I figured I'd ask around here.

Is there a quick, easy solution to this?

Probably store the information to a MySQL database so that he can run queries on it as needed. It's not hard, and there should be plenty of documentation out there if he needs it.
