Does the end justify the means?

I've been thinking about that... I believe that it does.

    go on I'm curious

It would depend upon the circumstances but generally I would say no.

Think about that, Do the means justify the end? Does the egg come from the chicken? Bananas? Coconuts? All questions and the answer is, no one knows, no one ever knows... *walks along a long road with sad music playing*

          So here's one for you...

Unemployment rate at this time is high.
one solution... 'remove' the employed with genocide.

Is the means worth the end?
What if your one of those unemployed? is it still worth it?

Yes sometimes the end is worth the means,
but there is more than one way to reach that end.

I'm not insane. I'm just overwhelming!

The means is everything, because there is no such thing as an end.

The end means you are 6 ft underground in a pinebox.

It's not where you are going, not when you get there, but what happens along the way-- and that my friends, is my life. I think you can apply that to what everyone has said here so far.... Does it really matter HOW you get there? Not in the least- just make sure you are happy with the way you went.

I have that posted on the wall in my office, and I wrote that in my journal on the first day that I decided to go college- nearly 6 years after graduating highschool.

What it means to me? I like the trip more than the arrival.

I disagree Hammy, I believe there are many ends, types of phases if you will, with many beginnings of different sorts. The means is a way by which you travel to the end, but the end is just a beginning!

Depends on what end you are going to, that you do anything to get there. Now by means are we talking legal, illegal, immorral, or moral means.

Hmm, say a woman with two kids needs to go to college so she strips for a living in vegas. With her looks she can do it. Well this happens, and obviously, I wouldn't condone it and would generally think poorly of her for this choice. But for her it would be much easier than working extra or doing other things for the extra money, plus she has the kids to worry about.

In the process she does a few 'other' things to make more money. In the end of this phase, she has enough money to graduate college, her two kids are fine and life goes on, she landed a great job with a great company. She still takes her birth control and the boss likes her alot.

                  Hmmm.

One way to get rid of Native Americans is to kill them all, which we tried to do a while back. The rest of that part which contained the 'trial of tears' was to round them all up and put them on reservations on their own homeland. We didn't kill them all, but we effectively got rid of them. Is this right, No, it's abhorrently wrong, but I don't see anybody in line to move and give their land back.

I'm a 1/8 Cherokee, so can I have my ancestors land back please. Yeah, right.

To some extent I can agree but here is an example of.... " The END "

Cains Lair once had a forum member who routinely insulted and repeatedly provoked other forum members just to get a response.

It was really uncalled for and unnecessary since most of the attacks were unprovoked. Eventually............

We banned him and that was " The END "

Around here........... the end does come for some.

Well there are ends to sections of your life I suppose. Completing a goal - an end. If you do whatever it takes to achieve a goal and consider it an end so you can begin again working towards a new end, whether that end is to conquer the world or just experience some new things. There's a ton of ways to go about both those... right?
