    Online degrees

Has anyone here done this? Know anyone that has? I've been debating on it since the closest college to me is BUY-I and I don't fit the criteria. The next one is about 50 miles and 3rd is over 100. I don't want to move and since we have some really harsh winters (our first snow fall last night) I don't want to have to travel.

Any help would be greatly appriciated
So go on, go on be your own, go on be your own star!
    A superstar in my eyes!

University of Phoenix is one of the few that are accepted by top corporations here in Silicon Valley.

There are a few other top programs, but Univ Phoenix has earned some respect.

I *believe* that the military uses University of Phoenix? Could be wrong there but I think I read something somewhere or heard it before. There's no problems with it as far as I'm concerned, you just need to pick one that a)You can easily transfer credits to a "real" university if you want to and b)Has a good reputation for being acceptable to employers. At least those are the two major criteria in my opinion. Also picking something you like, although I was assuming that's a given

I thought I remembered reading about them some place. Looking to get into criminal justice but I'll save the rest of that story for the time being.

We don't just use any one specific college. There are multiple colleges one can pick from for both online and regular classes.

University of Maryland has a very large program that is particularly popular for troops stationed in Europe. The Univeristy of Maryland, University College (UMUC) also has online learning opportunities.

My buddy who is 2 years removed from the AF and has spent quite a bit of time in Online classes says this:

UMUC and Park are the best for BA/BS.
Oklahoma and Boise State are best for MS/MBA

Univ of Phoenix is very expensive, but worth it if you can afford it.

Each College offers different things, so you need to approach it no different than your approach to traditional academia.

Incidentally, this same guy is with his wife who is still enlisted and thus they are out in Germany (synching up with Rand's point).
UMUC has given him two degrees, and he has a job already lined up with the Dept of Homeland Security when he gets out thanks to this school.
