I don't believe all of those black hole claims, but I figured I'd mention that it wasn't really "successful" yet. So far all CERN has done is shoot both rays around the tube separately, and not even at full power yet. It was a success in that the rays work, and the detector was able to recognize the rays, but the actual collisions that CERN wants to see won't happen for at least a few more weeks.
So my guess is Juneau is still alive and not being stretched out into a stream of atoms in a new black hole. Just a guess though, you never know. (hehe)

Even if it does create a black hole, which is very questionable at this point in time, and apparently the theories are pretty hard to prove that say they might, it would evaporate before it was able to do any damage to the earth. From what I've heard, even if one did manage to stay stable and migrate to the center of the earth as some doomsayers have predicted, the size it(they) would be is so small that it would take literally millions of years for any side effects to be noticed, let alone the earth to be destroyed. Suffice to say, I'm not worried
I would like to see them create a Higgs Boson that is detectable though. More information on Higgs Bosons Higgs boson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Something you should know - If a black hole is too small, it simply collapses on itself and is gone. 2nd, it's 2 miles underground in an extremely controled environment -- small chance

Now I agree with Naillik but...doomsayers think that the black hole will expand to the point where it has enough mass and gravity to gulp up the Earth. Me and my dad had a very LONG conversation about this and singularities, protons, and micro black holes, and apparently..lulz.Originally posted by {CLR} Naillik View PostSomething you should know - If a black hole is too small, it simply collapses on itself and is gone. 2nd, it's 2 miles underground in an extremely controled environment -- small chance
