I found Cain's accidentally while playing Counter Strike. I clicked on the server because it was full and I never left. I guess I am that bad relative that comes to visit and never leaves.
One thing that was important to me at the time was that Cain's Lair was a safe place for my son to play on line. That was one of the things that made The Lair family.

Was the game that started me here

I can fairly say that out of all thing different places i've joined for other things over the years, this is the only one I've never 'took a break' from!
Ah I miss the controlled mayhem that was UT2004.

I can still remember just sitting there staring at my server favourites list after the server went down, in the vain hope that it’d pop back up, was years before I even had the heart to remove it from the list.

I stay away from the money decisions and interdepartmental BS. In RnD we basically have an unlimited budget (rarely do we get turned down for any orders) and freedom to do what we want how we want to. My boss/manager always says "I trust you all to be working for the betterment of the company, if you break that trust you'll never get it back." So we have a lot of freedom to do as we wish, usually work with espn on the monitors muted and the radio playing. Also get paid salary so there are weeks I do 60+hours and weeks they're lucky if I do 30.
That is fascinating and fantastic!! Very cool, very interesting. Thank you for stopping by and updating all of us. Take care! Stop by from time to time.

Anyhow bf2, tf2, badcompany, day of defeat and maybe bf3 dont remember if i ever owned that one. But it was a good few years gaming with y'all figured I'ld say hi.
Was watching a clip yesterday that I made 8 years ago of me stabbing you. You were too busy being successful. That's awesome news. Hire me when you become a CEO.

Add in a few versions of UT & CS and you've captured a whole era of Wonder Years. They should do a TV show about it someday.

    Hey folks.

I remember the email from Cain way back months ago, but didn't reply to it (sorry, Cain, you've always been good to me, so I should have responded. I remember when you called me up and we chatted on the phone about things way back when.) I didn't even think to come here until just today when I had a brief moment of nostalgia for gaming while at the office and Googled my old handles to look at old scores and such, and then saw the old {CLR} tag. I didn't think my login would still work, but it does... what do you know?

After the CS:GO server shut down, I found another crew with a personal server and good admin at East Coast Gaming and played as [ECG]Fenris for a while, but then they started putting out missions and garbage and I found that I was just getting too angry when playing... I don't want to play a game that makes me angry rather than relaxed, that defeats the purpose. So I quit CS:GO all together. Played some BF4 for a while, I think I saw Apache and Golden a few times, but then my laptop got sat on by a child, and when I got a new one, I decided to step away from the FPS scene and go back to playing World of Warcraft.

I'm still playing that. I'm on the Khadgar server under a number of alliance toons, though I do still think about the excitement of playing an FPS from time to time. I enjoyed the hell out of CS:GO, especially with my boomstick (I used the autoshotty almost exclusively because my aim is so shit that I had to make up for it by rushing and having a wide spread) and before that I loved COD4, MoH: Allied Assault, the original Counterstrike and QWTF all the way back in college. I've tried Fortnite but I find it too competitive. Any FPS where you're put with random people who will abandon you or shit talk you just for learning isn't worth my time.

I'm still Fenris on Steam, so you can find me there if I'm doing something like playing Terraria or Vice City. Oh, and I published a book last year. I've been writing short internet horror since 2011 over on Reddit, and a guy reached out to me in 2016 about taking a bunch and putting them into a compendium, so we ran a gofundme campaign and got it made, fully illustrated and beautiful OC cover art. You can find it on Amazon: "Don't Look Away: 35 Terrifying Tales from the Darkest Corners" if you're into short horror stories. I won't say they're all amazing, but you never know who's going to like what, and each one was enjoyed by at least some people, so...

Good to see everyone still doing alright.
