Seriously... you guys are crap at explaining. I read a whole article on them and still have no idea. I'm going to assume they're just some useless "Yo Gi Oh" style cards for lonely kids to use on steam instead of school lunch rooms where that sort of activity belongs.

Cards dont do anything except help you get steam levels, which gives profile backgrounds, emoticons, and similar minor perks. However, they do have financial value on steam market if you don't want to collect them for their purpose.

I'm in on worms if I don't already have it and possibly strike suit zero if I get home in time tonight.

I agree with you. The only good thing would be to have a larger friends list. Thats why if someone needs what I have I will trade it.

Maybe I will sell them at some point and be able to buy a cheap game?

I loved it, and I played it before some of the recent updates that added a ton of content. I put 45 hours of playtime into the game even without that new content. For the price, it's one of the flat out best deals on Steam (well, Fallout at about the same price is obviously a better deal but most of you all should have had that before it got that cheap anyway ).

Selling them is a good way to go for anyone who doesn't care about Steam levels. All you really have to do is get a game with cards loaded to it's menu screen, minimize it, and do something else for a couple hours and you'll have all the cards you're going to get from it--right now (until they fix it?) you do NOT have to actively play a game to get the card drops.

Sell them (the most common value for general non-foil cards is between 12 and 30 cents per card right now, and many foil cards are over a buck each), and slowly build your steam wallet up. I think there's a better chance the values will go up slightly after the summer sale aftermath is done because the market won't be so flooded.

The friends list thing isn't a perk to me. I've got about 90 people on my friends list, most of them CLRs. I don't know enough peeps.
