I'd still take the Merc. You just can't compare.

You've never heard someone calls a Mercedes a Merc? As in MERK.

A word can have more than one meaning, golden. In the same way I'm about to call you a tit. It doesn't make you a body part. Tit.

Ok as a person who works in the car industry and sells them. NOBODY has ever come up to me and says I am driving a Merc or Merk.

Where's Juneau when we need him?!
The Internet says that Europeans sometimes refer to Mercedes as Merc, including Top Gear.
It also says the term was used in "50 Shades of Gray". Is that true?

Yup, my claustrophobic friend golden doesn't realize there are countries outside Murica. I got it from Top Gear myself. And no wonder Detroit went bust, if you worked for the CAR INDUSTRY.

I work in the auto industry, live on the west coast and have heard people (myself included) use merc. although I prefer MBZ.

I used to work in MB and nobody ever said Merc. Maybe its just not used on the East Coast very much.
